They say that the definition of insanity is, "Doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result"......
Well, up until now, I've been doing just exactly that. I've been stuck in a rut of my own making and that rut was the style in which I portrayed, nay, caged my images. They were a very Illustrative Style with harsh and hard outlines, bright, vibrant, almost cartoon-like colors and stiff rigidity. No more.
I had stated with the posting of my last Spirit Dancer that I was going to change my style into a more loose, flowing and life-like style. My previous work, albeit detailed and meticulous, didn't "breathe" and "move". It just sat there in it's cage; trapped, stifled and wanton. Again, no more.
I hinted a little at what I was transitioning into with the piece previous to this one, Chief Seattle, but it was still a bit limited. This portfolio piece you see here, truly represents the limitless and boundary-free style that I am now aiming for. Softer and freer. There is now life. There is now warmth and there is now the ability for the viewer to escape into the scene I've created.
So, what you can expect of me from this piece forward is more of these flowing, life-like renderings and slowly they will replace some of my previous hard lined work in my portfolio. This is what I want to be known for and this is what I wish to present to the world.
My passion of subject matter will remain the same; Native Americans, Southwest Culture and Animals. They will just look and feel more like they are supposed to....plus a little magic.
My hope is that you will all approve of this new style and transition as I truly enjoy it and I feel that I am able to express myself without restraint whilst rendering with it.
I thank you, each and all, for your support and for watching. It is truly appreciated. You have no idea how much I adore all of you and how much you are needed.
Edit: HOLY SMOKES!!!! I got a DD! Thank you so much artbyCher for this amazing kindness. I am just completely humbled and floored! Thank you to ALL OF YOU for watching and supporting my doodles and scribbles! I'm just gonna go sit and quiver for a bit. I can't even begin to express how I feel.
